She blankets me in shadows,
The darkness — my paramour.
She guides me in her own way,
Up and down the empty streets.
Her touch bathes me in moonlight.
I crave her sweet caress.
Her presence takes away my breath.
We dance under the street lamps,
Weaving in and out of each other’s embrace.
As the morning sun cuts across the sky,
She slips away from me.
I sit and wait till she is gone,
And then I fade away.
